Preston's 20vt 90q track car
« on: March 11, 2007, 10:39:35 PM »
Well I suppose I'll start up a project thread here.  The car is a 1990 90q.  Started with a 20v NA engine.  In college I threw a 10vt engine in with an 034 IIb engine controller.  It was pretty fun but a fuel line leak in the engine bay led a a little fire.  Melted a lot of wires and long story short its getting stripped and turning into a track car.  Plan is a 20vt with a gt35r, cage, kw race suspension and many other goodies.  I'll have to get some pictures up here shortly.  Currently the car is almost stripped.  Tubular control arms and lots of motorsports bushings, mounts, etc are on the way from 034.  Hope to have it converted to 5 lug and rolling on the new suspension by summer.  Next will be the cage followed by the engine build.  Should be a fun car to build up.

Probably for the battery.  Sounds like you got your hands full, and all that wiring makes me quezzy just looking at it.  But it looks like the car is in capable hands, and I cant wait to see it in action.  Good luck!

All wiring in the car is now gone   ;D  Not one wire left!!!

I'll rewire the necessary stuff like lights, wipers, etc.  I'm an electrical engineer so it won't be too bad.  I've built several engine harnesses, I can pretty much picture the entire thing in my head.  I think I have most of the 034 harness wire colors memorized too.

The hole is for the battery.  I relocated it from the engine bay with the first engine swap.  Normally a muffler is under the seat but who needs mufflers?  Picking up some parts tomorrow, maybe I'll grab some more pictures.

Dont worry, it will have antilag.  Here is a vid of my gf's 80tq that has a 10vt and an 034 IIc ecu in it.  Too bad she is living in CO right now.
