Topic: snap ring/retaining ring/circlip

I've got a retaining ring to put on my helicopter, but this bugger can't be opened much by hand.  It looks as if theres a tool with 2 little bits that slip through the holes on the open side, then can be opened much like a wrench.  Alas I don't have that tool.  Any suggestions for getting these on a shaft using more common tools?

I think you need the pliers.  If you have a harbor freight near you they have some for $13

yeah jm you just need some snap ring pliers. Every tool store has them

I got a set at ace for $13.  Right tool for the right job.
