As you guys know, I'm in the process of moving to San Antonio. This past weekend was the big move. So Saturday morning I'm driving my mom and son to the airport so they can fly down ahead of my wife and I driving down. On Middlebelt, just south of Ecorse I hit a huge piece of asphalt in the road (they're doing construction there) and it rips up the protective shield under the car and breaks the fuel line, I now have no power (AWESOME).
So who do you call in the event of an audi emergency? S-man....that's Stefan. He tells me exactly what I have to do to repair it myself. So again, mad props to the man we all love and trust with our most precious toys.
Now I have to find the parts....I jog about 3/4 of a mile up Middlebelt to Romulus Auto parts. They had what I needed, but I wasn't sure of the fuel line OD. So the nice woman behind the counter drives me back to my car, I cut a little piece of the fuel line and we go back to the store....I get the hose that I need, multiple hose clamps and a small pipe cutter. After about 45 minutes under the car, I have the fuel line bridged with the fuel injector hose, sealed off with two clamps on each side and completely leak free. Soaked in gas and covered in mud, I get a quick wash up and we're on our way.
Thanks to both of these places, I got the parts I need, fixed the car and made it to San Antonio safe and sound.
I need to find Stefan's clone in San Antonio!
