Re: My UrS6 Avant *euro lights and HID kit installed*
« Reply #60 on: December 21, 2010, 05:35:31 PM »
i got the euro headlights and the HID kit installed today. one thing i'm kinda bummed about is that one lense is cloudy as is the projector lense too. i need to figure out how to fix this cause its annoying! i dont have the city lights wired up yet because i havent bought LED bulbs yet. i also dont have the euro headlight pigtail which has a wire that i can tap into to wire up the city lights, so that means i have to cut a little hole in the back of the housing and feed a wire thru to wire up the city lights. i want to wire up my city lights to turn on when the ignition is turned on and then turned off once i turn on the headlights.  i'll post pics soon.

Cloudy -- or does it have condensation? If there's condensation, make sure the passages for the breather tubes aren't obstructed. Sometimes the plastic where the rubber breather boot attaches to still has plastic  molding remnants that obstructs the hole.

Re: My UrS6 Avant *mystery coolant leak fixed finally*
« Reply #67 on: December 22, 2010, 10:17:34 PM »
i've been having this nagging coolant leak thats been driving me nuts. i finally got a metal t-stat housing, new coolant hose for the t-stat housing and good used coolant hose from Jim for the hose that goes to the heater core. when i was down at Jim's last night to pick up the metal t-stat housing i had Jim show me what i needed to do to install the housing and i pointed to the hose thats right behind the t-stat housing hose and asked what its for. he said its for the heater core and i asked if he had a coolant hose that i could cut to lenght to replace that hose since i'm replacing the t-stat housing and hose hoping it would fix my coolant leak. once i got that hose off for the heater core i noticed that it had 1 big crack which was causing my coolant leak. pic below showing the hose that was causing my coolant leak. that big crack you see couldnt be seen because it was on the opposite side of where i made the cut to remove the hose and that hole was facing the engine block so there was no way of seeing that hole at all. i also replaced the old hose clamps with new one for good measure.

this pic below shows the good used coolant hose that i shorten to replace that heater core hose.

Re: My UrS6 Avant *little update*
« Reply #68 on: January 12, 2011, 09:59:36 PM »
bought a couple of items shortly after x-mas.

RS2 replica injectors. i still need to buy RS2 stg 3 chipset with 3 bar VMAP.

034 high flow silicone turbo inlet hose

this scared me after taking the old turbo inlet hose off. mind you this RS2 was installed new at 29,649 miles and now my avant has 251,000 miles. that means this turbo has 221,351 miles on her. there is a bit of shaft play front to back and side to side when i checked for shaft play.

Re: My UrS6 Avant *ecu off to get upgraded*
« Reply #69 on: January 21, 2011, 09:26:06 PM »
yesterday i sent out my ecu to EFI Express to have the MRC RS2 chipset and VMAP installed and set at 3 bar. i'm not exactly sure what particular MRC chipset it is but Marc said it came out of a UrS car that had a RS2 turbo with RS2 injectors and it made 28 psi. i should be getting my ecu back some time in the middle of next week. i cant wait ;D

Wait, 28 psi?  I hope you are able to check everything out with a wideband O2 sensor before you really stomp on it.

i'm really not worried. MRC RS2 chips run on the rich side. i think Marc ment to say it max'd to 28 psi. i'm guessing it runs in the 24-26 psi range? i wont know til i get my ecu back.

i have a feeling that i need to upgrade to Marc's LS2 ignition system kit

yup. the chipset is from a well known company and i bought it from a well known tuner. i thought only wideband can only be used with standalone ecu's meaning that it'll give you wideband readout opposed to narrowband read out if setup with stock ecu thats been chipped?
