90cs Auto transmission woes
« on: February 23, 2007, 08:42:30 PM »
Well... Stefan gave me the bad news this week. Trans is shot on my 90cs and will have to be rebuilt again  :'(

GMW did the trans last year right after I bought the car (knowing full well that it was having "issues") and my only concern was first gear being slow but we chaulked that up to the infamous Audi Automatic transmission. About 3 weeks ago I left for work and the car was revving around 5000-5500 as I got on I-75 and only got up to about 55. Pulled over and called GMW to see if I could limp the car home. Stefan said that would be a good idea and to bring the car in ASAP. Next morning I was unable to get the car out of the drive and had it towed to GMW. Since the trans work came with a one year warranty, I was happy to know that GMW stands behind its work. Hopefully I'll be back behind the wheel in a week or two.

They say that "good things come to those that wait"....

GMW called yesterday and said the 90 was ready. Stopped by to get the key and talk to Stefan. Seems that the valve body was the culprit (even though it tested OK electrically). Stefan said the car shifts like it should and 1st gear "rips like a mutha".

OMG  :notworthy:  This car shifts like "buttah" AND it gets up and goes!

No more waiting to see if first gear can find itself and get moving. Major Props to GMW for customer service and satisfaction.

It really is a shame he can't clone himself.

Glad to hear it's back on the road and better than ever  :icon_rr:  It's too bad Stefan had to do the R&R again,though... What a bear.
