The new RS5 uses a "self locking crown gear."

Wow, match that up with a magnetic suspension system, and you've got a pretty damn good handling car.  Karma for you for a cool find!

Which brings up an interesting thing.  With all the electronics, torque vectoring, active anti roll bars etc, is the car handling good because of what it is, or are the electronics are making it feel that way.  And does it really matter?

Maybe its just me but I like my cars a little bit crazy and edgy.  I don't want some torque vectoring system trying to rethink my desires and trying to correct my inputs.  Give me a steering wheel, gearshift and three pedals, keep the rest.

Ya great find Ken and karma for you as well. I'm 60/40 on this one, get it 60/40..LOL. I do like a car that is bit edgy like Jeff said but at the same time it's nice that you don't have to worry about it when you need to.

How many Audi drivers or drivers in general really track their cars to really get the feel of having the rear-end come out a little bit when you give it some power. I think that the market place and OEMs are just enginnering what the people want. Do Ferrari's really need launch control? It's just another piece of tehcnology that seperates them from the rest.

In my opinion Audi's are becomingtoo techy for my taste. My B5 still has that raw feel but it seems that the B7's are too special and I don't feel the 'driver experience' in those rides. Is it just me or has technolgy taken over the whole driver experience....has someone mentioned that about F1 cars at all?
