« on: February 16, 2007, 10:42:17 PM »
i forgot to mention that the other day in the mail i got this letter from the dealer about "theres a high demand for 98 a4's and looking to buy yours back" i was thinking WTF i didnt even buy the car from you. it original came from GA. also i was thinkin you couldnt even give me enough money for it. i mentioned the letter to my dad and said the only way i'll sell it back to them would be an even trade for a rs4 avant or how about the up coming r8

no RS4 Avant for the U.S.  The battery box doesn't meet U.S. standards and they arn't going to re-engineer it just for us.  I'm afraid you'll have to hold out for a sedan instead.

ya.  U.S. regs mandate a solid barrier between the passenger cabin and battery.  In the sedan the lockable rear seat suffice.  In the Avant RS4 there is no real barrier and the battery box isn't the same as the A4 battery box.  Stupid but that is why.

I recently got an oil change offer from Audi of Rochester Hills.....sent to my new address in Austin TX??

Kinda far to drive even for a free oil change!!!

I think the Audi mail house has lost it!

lol
when i was 14 i worked for a mass mailing company for about 3 months.....we mostly handled promo mail for real estate agents..... anyway... it was people like you we'd notice and laugh. You see, audi sends an address list to a shop for mailing, and all the pruning and geographical targeting is done on that list by the shop, but if the client was very lax about it all we usually wouldn't prune the crazy addresses because it was more $$. heh.
so there ya go ;)

just out of curiosity i really do not mean any disrespect i dont really know much about the history of the 98 s4 but how do u honestly think your car is worth as much as a brand new $70,000 RS4...i do understand your car probably has a lot of sentimental value so that makes the price higher in your mind but lets please be realistic here...A. modding contrary to our minds actually reduces the value of a car and B. and again no offence but your car isnt that clean ie. driver seat looks like it has been through hell

none taken. i dont have a 98 s4 none existed then. i know a highly modified car dont add value to the car. i thought it was funny that i got that letter from our local dealer which i never bought the car from cause it said they want to buy it back.
