Low Temps affecting APR?
« on: February 05, 2007, 04:40:22 PM »
My car decided to set itself back to factory boost this morning on the way to work.  My guess is that the ECU was reading boost spikes from the low temps lately, and simply over-ruled the APR flash.

Thoughts?

I'm stocky.

Limp home maybe, but not stock. APR would know for sure whether they played with the failure management code to jump back to stock settings, or keep it moving to a limp home mode from the factory.

I think its more likely that you killed the DV with all that cold weather boosting : )
It'll only go back to stock if your ECU loses power momentarily

I reset the software right back to 93, and all is well.  I know that some people who have done more serious tuning have had to tune back their boost due to spikes from the cold air.

it's really common on the chipped turbo cars for to go limp with drastic weather changes throughout the year, although rare, the change in maf/load will affect the chips' failsafe measures...
