Hiccup?
« on: January 24, 2007, 08:32:41 AM »
My car occasionally hiccups lately. Is it the DV going south, or? If so, are there any benefits with replacing it with after market one? Thanks for your assistance!!!

DV won't cure the problem (no or reduced boost = bad dv)

It's more likely that your plugs are fouling because the car is not getting up to temp on short trips.
(Spark plugs need to get to a specific temperature so that they can self clean).

If you're not taking short trips then it maybe time to change the plugs.

I am using premium (92-94). Do you think that winter blend is causing the hiccups?

Does it normally happen under half throttle?  If so, I wouldn't worry about it.  It's just the DV not enjoying being open only a little bit.  Mine does it too, and I just bury my foot in the kitchen to solve the problem.
