i finally got the car done today and gave it a wash which needed it badly! i took it for a drive and at highway speed (around 70ish mph) i have a viberation. so now it sits in the garage again and tomorrow back to work on it again. ::)

i had the wheels leaned against verious things in the garage for about 5 weeks. i'm going to recheck the torque of the BBK and take the wheels in and have them checked on the balancer to see if there off. the weird thing is i didnt have this viberation before i started the install.

Did you put the wheels on the same corner they came off?  Maybe a wheel was always out of balance but it was on the rear and not as noticeable.  If a wheel bearing was causing vibrations you'd most likely be hearing it too. I've had them start to vibrate before I could hear them. A rotor could be out of balance, but I've never had that happen.

i kept the wheels nearby where they came off to remind myself where they go. my wheel bearings did make noise before but wasnt that loud to figure out which one it was. i'm hoping thats its not a out of balance rotor (these rotors are new) because i have no idea how to get that fixed other then buying a new rotor.

kick the person who told you the rotors were out of balance in the nuts. Rotors dont move they are fixed to the hub. A bad wheel bearing can be felt but will be very loud. Make sure to so the obvious and check tire pressure and wheel torque. Make sure that your wheel is not touching the caliper.

i figured that out of balance rotors sounded odd. i'm going to recheck the balance of the tires. a member on quattroworld mentioned that i should check for corossion on the back side of the wheels. i have plently of clearence with the 8mm wheel spacers. i hope i find something tomorrow.

the wheel spacers are hubcentric

What?

The rotor does move exactly the same as the wheel.  They are both bolted to the hub and rotate relative to the rest of the car.  A rotor could be out of balance, but it would be very unlikely and any inbalance would not be very noticable due to how close much of the mass of the rotor is to the center of rotation.  Wheel balance is much more critical because it is much further away from the center of the hub.

Have the wheel rebalanced first and see what that does or rotate the tires and see if the problem moves with the wheel or not.

When using wheel spacers . . . I've found a good torque wrench is absolute. Jack the car up loosen the lugs and re-tighten in an X pattern using the torque numbers from your owners manual.

FYI, sometimes the spacer is so tight on the rotor it doesn't seat correctly leaving a very slight gap. Take a real close look. You might be happily surprised. Good luck.

i cleaned the back side of the wheels, the lip (not sure the actual name) of the hub, rebalanced the wheels and found out that one of the bent wheel was on the front instead of the rear (not sure how it got mixed up). the viberation is now gone. i'm glad it didnt have anything to do with the wheel spacers.
