Just saw this thread!  Holy crap that is one clean car.  Nice find!

I had the same issue as a seller of a car where I didn't have it titled yet, so I had to go to one of those same day secretary of state offices and get a title pronto when I sold the car.  Wasn't a big deal but at least I knew it had to be done before the sale.

That was, however odd you may find it, my favorite part about the R8.  The brakes.

looks like AW is having problems with their switch over. ::)

these calipers are bigger then i thought. there is a guy on AW with a UrS4 that has bbk (6 pistons) front and rear (4 pistons).

i've been audi-less for 2 weeks now again :'( i'm currently doing a BBK install on my s4 and its taking me forever because the car is at my parents house and i only spend about a hour or so when i'm there to work on it. when the red wings are playing i'm glued to a TV so that means no worky on the car. also i had to spend time installing HID light kit to my dad's new car he bought (06 caddy sts4). that was a pain in the ass install job.

i've been fighting with rear brake line issues that is a setback in this long BBK install progress. the other setback issue that i currently have was breaking a bolt for the caliper bracket to strut housing which was caused by my own stupidty :BangHead:

god when I see that I think of Shawn's car! ;)

My car will be done soon also !!!!

I am now pondering where to place the BOOST gauge!!!
since it will see action on a high speed track and I dont want to loose sight of it or the track I want it right in front of my eyes...I am thinking about a single pod on the steering column...Thoughts? Comments?

Is that a threadjack?!?  Maybe just a little  ;)  I'd Zip-Tie it on the column.  That way if you don't like it there you can move it without damaging anything. If you're thinking about tracking that car, maybe you should invest in an exhaust temp gauge as well.

kinda, i dont mind. a gauge pod mounted on the steering column would be a great location. i think you have to custom make one because i do think there is any aftermarket ones available for these cars?

after about a month and a half (i lost track) of SLOWLY working on my s4 and having issues during the install with the car, persoanl issues, and watching the Red Wings i'm almost finished with the porsche 928 gts caliper install. i just have to double check the new hard brake lines i had to install in the rear and new rubber lines for the rear calipers and make sure there isnt any seepage of brake fluid anywhere. i found out after i installed a new brake fluid reservoir and bleed the brake system that its the wrong reservoir because it doesnt have a offset for clearence of the front strut bar. i replaced the reservoir because i couldnt completely clean out the build up that was in the old one as seen in the pic below. eventually i'll buy the correct reservoir but for now i'll leave it be and drive w/o the strut bar.

i wont be able to finish the s4 tomorrow after work because an hour after i get out it'll be time for the Red Wings game. i hope to finish it sat after i get out of work but i might not be able to because i have have to get up early for work sunday for our once a month open on sunday at my work. my next day off will be tues instead of sunday since i switched my day off with a co-worker.

all i have to do left with the s4 is double check all of the brake line fittings and make sure no brake line is seeping out fluid and reinstall the wheels and take her out for a drive after sitting over a month.

nicely painted rear calipers with new pads, rotors and rubber lines

928gts calipers with new pads and 323x30mm rotors

test fitted with 8mm and have plenty of clearence.

i thought the zinc coated rotors dont rust? wtf!?
