now on the road enjoying the s4
« on: June 18, 2008, 02:16:56 PM »
i finally got the title for the s4. he's the low down about it. when i went to pick up the car the owner bought the car from the previous owner and he didnt register the car nor got the title transfered over to his name. he said i shouldnt have any troubles transferring the title over to my name but i couldnt because his name was on the title as buyer. so i had to send it back to him so he could transfer the title to his name and send the new title to me.

was i crazy for buying the car w/o the proper title? yes. but is it worth it fvck yes. this car is extreamly clean with a good selling price and i couldnt pass up the deal. now i have to get the new title transfered in my name, get it registered, insured, plated and finish my boost gauge install and upgrading the cluster bulbs to 2W that i'm working on now.

Wow that's shady - he basically brokered the car without paying taxes.
I'm pretty sure a law was broken somewhere.

i called him back (after i sent him the title) to make sure he got it and he said when he went to get the title transfered in his name, he said he had to register the car and pay the tax.

I figured he would have to pay the tax in order to transfer the title into his name.  That would suck to have to pay the tax on a car you don't even own anymore, but at least you would have cash in hand to pay it.  How long did the PO have the car?  He was taking a big risk if he drove it w/o it registered in his name.

I don't register my parts cars, but they never get driven and the shells are usually hauled off to the scrap yard after they are stripped.  The junk man doesn't care what name is on the title.  He only cares that he has the title to prove it isn't stolen.

i finally got the title transfered over (should get the new one in 10 days), registered and plated! man i LOVE this car! :icon_rr: drove around today for about 2 hours and it puts a smile back on my face just like the a4 did. i can say this car is just as fast as my a4 was and this car is stock. i do miss that sound of that supercharger that i had on the a4. i deffently need to add some aftermarket mufflers so the car isnt SOOO damn quite. i cant hear the turbo nor the exhaust. every car i've owned in the past at least had a aftermarket muffler on it.

Exactly!  The stock exhaust is quiet, but it also flows very well and won't be a restriction until you go past RS2 levels of power.  Stromung is the best system to replace the stock one, but it's a bit pricey.  Be carefull with the frankenmuffler approach because most attempts to just change the muffler or do a custom exhaust result in excessive drone.  Do a lot of searching on the AW UrS forum to see what has worked for others in the past.

I agree with Brad.  The stock exhaust is very nice, and Stromung is really the only option when upgrading the full exhaust.  A peiced together custom system rarely comes without problems.  But, ABT has a nice rear muffler section with a nice, but subtle sound...

here's a pic of one of my past UrS4 with the ABT exhaust
