5000CS TQ Window switch
« on: January 15, 2007, 03:07:59 PM »
Can someone tell me how to remove and replace the front passenger side power window switch? It's a 87 5000CS TQ.  Thanks for any help,  I don't want to butcher up the armrests.

Thanks for the reply,  well, I got the door panel off and replaced the switch.  Now the window works great at the switch by will not work at the drivers master control, also the rear passenger window will not work at the switch now, but will work at the master.  Just the opposite of before.   Help!

FWIW you do not need to pull the door panel off to get the switch out. Simply pry up the switch with a flatblade screwdriver.

It sounds like you're just switching around faulty switches? If they confirm to be good then I would check the wires out in the drivers side door jamb. You will have to slide back the rubber boot and inspect the wires. They like to flex over time from the door being opened and closed and will fray/crack/break causing all kinds of problems.
