Looking for a good detailer.
« on: April 02, 2008, 11:19:57 AM »
Need a good detailer. I know that Classic Appreciation in B'gham is recommended but they seem like a high volume place that will try to do a few cars a day. I would much rather have someone who will take his time to do an excellent job, instead of try and rush it to get to the next one. I know a lot of people in different states that do this service, but not one in Michigan. So if you have a recommendation for someone, or just some input on the subject please chime in.

There's a place across the street from work (11 and Mound) that I've taken my Jeep to before. It's a small 1-2 man operation, defintely not high volume. They do pretty good work and had real good prices last time I went (over a year ago). I'll snag the name on my way out today if I can remember.

Honestly man, they do a good job.  Especially for the price.  Yes they make work "quickly" relatively speaking but this is only because they have the right tools and they do it every day.

When they say they will clay bar your whole car they actually do the whole car.

I just have this feeling that while you may find someone who'll take a whole day/2 on your car, the extra $$$ isn't worth the gain.

yep, w/o me even thinking to ask. :)  They even sanded down a dime sized rust spot and filled it with paint and a pseudo touch-up "clear-coat".

Jacob at Autolavish seems to do a pretty solid job too.
I'm stocky.
