If you have been following this thread, you may have noticed its been a while since I've posted any progress on the coupe...This is because it's been held up in the shop having the head rebuilt and etc and etc and etc for a GOD DAMN long time......But hey that's cool whatever its in the past. Today I finally got the coupe back and for a FEW BRIEF hours all was good... The planets had finally aligned.... I was back in the Coupe.

Suddenly the dark clouds had closed in once again. The Audi gods must be PISSED. Up over a hill and say hello to BAMBI ! ! ! ! ! ! ! Caved in the passenger side of the windshield ! ! ! ! ! !
Yeah you had to read that last sentence twice right? Just because how why how? ! ! ! WTF ! ! ! !

OK calm....steady calm... I always try to find a silver lining. The only thing I can come up with is NO metal was bent and NO plastic was cracked. Just a busted windshield. I say "just" and really that is a joke. Finding a windshield for this car will be harder then killing a deer with a q-tip. Hummmm so much for a silver lining, but killing a deer with a Q-tip that could be PLATINUM right? . . . .

I don't blame myself there was simply no place to go...I had three choices

A] swerve into the on coming lane.
B] go off roading and play tree slalom or
C] take out the deer.

I was able to process all of this in what must have been less then half a second.

I've walked out into the garage a couple of times now and I am still scratching my head in shock.

Awwww FVCK ME GUD DAMN IT! ! ! ! ! ! !

Unbelievable!  After waiting so long -- for that to happen is... ughh.  Amazing that no sheetmetal was damaged, though.

I am sorry to hear what happened, and it must be very frustrating. It is,however, good thing that you are not hurt.

Good Luck!

OK I have 2 sources for windows and trim . . . . . My fingers are still crossed on this glass. I think there are only a few left in the country. As far as used glass. . . well getting these windshields out is difficult at best. Most of the leads I have found want a deposit on the glass before you even try to pull it out, because most likely your gonna snap it. This is getting way fvck pricey.... I am sure there is stained glass cheaper then this in the Vatican. Theres nothing like driving a rare 20 year old Audi. Should be back on the road by next weekend. Damn this just SUCKS!

Thanks! Yeah I wanted to, but there are only two days of the weekend. I needed to catch up around the house. Trying to clear my plate for next weekends Grand Prix! ;) Next time for sure.

Its pearl . . . The wheels are a "dove" gray with a silver inner lip. I think they are a knock off of a PIAA wheel. I like them just because they are simple and easy to clean. It's really hard to find a 4X108 wheel. They are offset with 33mm? H&R spacers.
