A taste of things to come (updated 12/14/07)

Old and busted

New Hotness

Still waiting for the turbo, old one wouldn't work, and was on it's last legs.

I sent them another email over the weekend, but I haven't heard anything yet.

If not, then I'm going Standalone, not sure what yet though.

John,
It's OK, you can put the M5 in your sig- we won't pick on you too much  ;D

Glad to see you're working on it again.  Was that turbo used before?  What caused it to go bad?

Bout time you got the beast up and running again!  Dont suppose you've got a decent exhaust you're willing to get rid of...

Hi John...great seeing that the baast (intended) is being worked on...

FWIW The turbo you, Doug K and I put in my car 4 years ago is still spooling :) thanks again and congrats on the M5! pics and update your sig!

I've got a Scorpion exhaust on the car now, with the "DTM style" tips.  I think it's 2.5" all the way, with dual 3" tips.

The only thing is, where it mates up with the stock DP, I cut the coupler off, so that I could mate it up with my 3" downpipe.  I'd be willing to sell it cheap if someone is interested.

I'll also have an ATP manifold, turbo, tial wastegate, DP (made for ABA block though) and some misc stuff if someone was thinking about going homebrew BT.

ok ok, I'll put the M5 in my sig.  Done.

the turbo I had on there was a T3/T4 50trim, almost 5 years old, so it had a bit of abuse on it.  I'm guessing not being tuned might have had a lot to do with it.  It can probably be saved with a rebuild, I think it's pretty cheap to rebuild (new bushings, thrust washer)

I got the new turbo in, mocked up, I haven't reclocked the centersection or compressor housing yet.

turns out the wastegate dump tube is slightly off, so I have to send back the DP to be fixed, but I'm going to take the opportunity to get rid of the 5-bolt flange and upgrade to V-band outlet (long story why I didn't do this in the first place)

I sent a couple more emails to VAST, but still no response, so I'm still undecided on what to do for tuning.

Couple of updated pics
