Apex Karting Center - the build
« on: November 14, 2007, 01:38:34 PM »
Demo has been underway for the last two weeks at the new building...floors are now media blasted in the track area and almost all of the old structures have been removed or remodeled accordingly.  I was in there a couple days ago and now that the track area is differentiated from everything else its easy to see just how huge its going to be.

The biggest news of the day is that the new electric kart arrives today (the first of 48).  This will be our test kart for learning all the new functions.  Now we just have to figure out how to get the charger plugged in  :)

I should also mention that if you haven't contacted me yet about an Apex Karting membership you really should do so now.  You don't have to have a K2K membership to do this and there are no strings attached.  Basically I'm making sure all my homies get a free Apex membership and 2 free rides.  So, pm, email, or whatever your name, mailing address, and email and I'll hook you up.

A Diesel Locomotive uses the diesel fuel to generate electricity for the Electric Motor  - Why? More torque.

ya thats it.  119,000 sq ft of pure karting madness  :)  Not really, ~85,000 for the karts the rest holds the restaurant, climbing wall, lounge, bar, 2 meeting rooms, driving simulator, other assorted games....  Its going to be cool.

So the kart didn't come in last night, it got hung up in Chitown for some reason.  Should arrive around noon and I'll go pick it up whenever I get the call.

ya...its sitting in the building right now.  I guess it was too good of a deal to pass up.  Its not really a very difficult one but it will offer groups something else to do.

I'll still take gas power over electric.  Electric has more torque on demand at ANY time, but it still dies off as the battery does.  I'll gladly take a more consistant power source that gives me more seat time.  But time will tell.
