FS: Mille Miglia 18" Spyder rims with tires
« on: December 29, 2006, 10:59:50 AM »
Set of 4 Mille Miglia 18" Spyder wheels which are in good condition. One of the rim has small flat spot, but balances fine. The other had a harsh spot on a spoke, but it was fixed in a local shop today - a $30 repair. I would say the job is 8 on 10, but you have to look close to see anything was ever repaired.
Three of the wheels come with 225/40/ZR18 Sumitomo HTR Z II tires which are in great condition and have only been used for 5000 miles. On rim#3 the tire has visible more outer edge wear, but still in decent condition. The other tire was damaged and removed. This wheel is being sold w/o a tire. You can get a new tire at tirerack HERE for $89. This is great set.

The bolt pattern is 5x112, size 18x8, offset 35et.
Come with center rings but no conical/tuner bolts required for aftermarket rims.

How did you have the spoke fixed in the photo? Also....on flat roads do you get any "warble" feel from that flat spot on the #3 wheel?

the damaged area was filled up, wet-sanded, primed and color matched. I would say the matching is 95% accurate, untrained eye will not see the difference, but if you know what you are looking for, you will find it.

The answer is NO to the 2nd question. The flat spot is hardly noticable.

You are more than welcome to pm me and setup time for close up inspection if interested.

Can't you fix the flat spot with a rubber hammer?

I wouldn't do it.

It can be easily fixed in rim-repair shop. Never try to fix damage like this with hammer. The alloy may crack if not fixed the proper way.
