Got a flat tire on Wednesday, was desparate so I pulled into Discount Tire.
They fixed the leak (a two inch long spike), balanced the tire and sent me on my way

totally unlike Pep Boys in Farmington.

bought 4-new tires in april....day of MCA dinner.   they're were slammed, so we were there for over 3 hrs, didn't have time for the alignment.  a few days ago, Tuesday, back tire wouldn't hold air.  had to wait for them to open, they ended up replacing the tire (gave us a credit on the old, which btw they no longer make, *so one tire doesn't match* and then had them do the alignment, which they couldn't finish because the front-right tire-rod is frozen and they can't move it.  Kelly was there for 2.5 hrs.  So, tonite, they're doing that, then finishing the alignment.   so for 3 trips and i'm out the cost for the tires, the alignment and the tire-rod, plus half a sunday, 3.5 hrs of lost work time (kelly lost an hour waiting for them to open on tuesday, plus the 2.5 hrs we'll be out of a friday nite!!!    totally not happy.

Any Discount Tire FTW!  I had a flat that could not be repaired.  Not only did they match the lower price from Tirerack they prorated the tire as if I had a replacement certificate (which I didn't) and used the money saved by the prorated value of the tire to pay for replacement certificates for new tire and the 3 old ones.  So for the price of a single tire from Tirerack + shipping, I got a new tire with full replacement certificate and certificates for my other 3 tires.

Also, soak all fastners that need to be loosened for an alignment with PB blaster or some other penetrating lubricant the day before you take it in.  Or better yet, break loose the fasteners before you take the car in.

^^True I just got tires at the ann arbor discount tire.  Very professional, and quick.  I highly recommend them too!

Although Discount Tire broke a lug bolt last year (had to take the bearing out to fix it), I did buy my summer tires from them this past year.   They have free balancing, so that is a plus, and they have fixed flats for free from me too.   They also match tirerack pricing plus shipping, and had no problem with the rebate on my tires either.

yeah.......apparently whichever knucklehead worked on it tuesday heated up the tire-rod, before taking it off in the first place.......and it's still not corrected b/c last nite they said they were gonna have issues getting the left side off.   so......alignment not only not done yet, but worse than it was when it went in tuesday morning when it went in.   i'm waiting for a call from the store manager.  should be a fun conversation.

Same thing happend to me. I brought my wifes Honda CRV to Discount Tire on S Rochester Rd just before 59 by Jax's
and Barns&Noble. Fixed for FREEEEEEE! In LESS then a 1/2 hr! NICE!
