my sliver beast
« on: September 18, 2007, 01:28:13 AM »
i might as well make a project post for my a4 on here since i made one at dtw and now that i plan on keeping it might as well make a new one here since no one on dtw. plus i want to keep my cq post for my cq only.

as most of you know i was trying to sell my a4 but i couldnt find the right buyer and now that 034 made a badass swap possible (034's vr6t b5 a4), i decided to keep the a4 now because the car is paid off and i'm going to make my a4 a daily driver/winter beater because last winter done a number on the cq. plus the a4 has working a/c so i dont have to piss and moan about sweating my ass off when i was driving my cq this summer.

heres a quick run down on my a4 (in no particular order) for those of you that havent seen my project post from dtw or from other forums where i posted it.

I purchased a 1998.5 Audi A4 Quattro 5 speed 2.8L 30v V6 with sport suspension on the 31st of December 2003 (my 1st audi ever).

took this pic not too long after i bought it (all stock).

swapped out the wood trim (not a fan of wood trim, much sportier look) to s4 aluminum trim with a TT shift knob and painted the shift pattern black

swapped to US spec 1-piece headlights with cc mod because the 2-piece non-projector headlight that came stock SUCKED lighting up the road at night

the 1st set of wheels i bought (18"x8.5" ADR Cypher wrapped in 235/40 Kumho ECSTA Supra 712)

close up of the wheels (no longer have those wheels because of my stupidty)

the oh so slow lump of motor that alot of people knock on ::)

the loud beast that drives the motor :P (for you noobs this a g1 kit ;))

to help the beast keep cool 8) (you only can do this with the g1 kit :P)

custom taillights (bought them from the original guy who came up with this idea)

2nd set of wheels i bought (17" oem b5 s4) now i have my stock wheels on

heres a list of mods that i've done with the car (some of these you can see in the pics above others i dont have pics of)
V&S short shifter, APR snub mount, S4 aluminum trim, TT knob, H&R sport spring and Bilstein (grooved) sport shocks, AWE Tuning DTS, 1-piece US spec headlights with c/c mod, Llumar 35% tint, custom taillights, stealth bulbs, PES G1 supercharger w/S4 injectors, TZ Series clutch from Sound Bend Clutch, ECS adjustable FPR and fuel pressure gauge, 3" S4 exhaust, H-Sport front and rear sway bars w/rear metal sway link, Bell Intercooler, aftermarket fog lights.

The original 2 piece headlights were the worst I have ever experienced on a car.  It's like Audi said, "Well, odds are we'll be out of the US market in a few years so don't spend too much time on those DOT lights."   Of course due to the success of the A4 Audi is still around.

'10 GTI, Xenons, Dynaudio
'94 Miata C package- black and tan, Kosei K1's
Sold- '97 A4 1.8T Q, H&R, Bilstiens, '17 ACE Lola, Milltek/Borla, APR, Stern Power Ring

yeah those headlights were terrible! did audi really say that about not being in the US market that long?
