There are several features and options here at MCA that are a little different from our old home.
The photo gallery!I'm so glad this new software is installed and available to the group, because I think there were at least a few people (like myself) who just refused to use the old album because it took so much time.
This package (for those interested its called Coppermine -
http://coppermine-gallery.net/) first and for-most allows for
batch upload, and
automagically resizes photos and creates thumbnails while still providing access to the original unfettered file for those interested. Second, it is MUCH easier to browse an album, because you get these nice little next and back arrows, as opposed to each photo click opening a huge new window with the full size picture. You should try it out

. Lastly, photos uploaded to user galleries will appear immediately, and photos uploaded to public galleries require admin approval -- but that will happen quickly and I have no interest in censoring (to the greater extent) what people post so go ahead.
You'll also see that in each profile (if they have uploaded photos) it shows the thumbs of the last 3-5 pictures and then lets you go to their user gallery, thats a cool little piece of integration.
Note: Several users have complained of long upload times for photos. Unfortunately most users visit the site from home, and residential broadband connections have slow upload speeds (upload is your computer sending a file to the server). As digital cameras become more high-tech image files are becoming bigger (many produce files > 1MB in size). Thus the bottleneck will almost always be your connection and not ours. If you are uploading several files or even one high quality file just prepare to wait 30 seconds to several minutes for the page to load after clicking the 'upload' button in the photo gallery.
