Forge 'Splitter' BPV installed.  The reason why I chose this model was because it can be used as a BOV, as a BPV, or as a hybrid of the two with a small percentage of the air being blown off.

Anyway, it took me longer to pull the car around to the garage at work then it did to install.  The adjustable spring tension is easy to set and I ended up about half way to the maximum setting.

The increased boost hold is noticeable over the 93k mile stocker with higher peak pressures than before.

Awesome, Thanks.  I was looking at some on ECS but they seemed a little pricey, my driver side mirror is starting to kind of de-laminate.  They sound pretty easy to install?  Are you satified with the acrylic?

I couldn't justify spending hundreds when really it comes down to just fixing two tiny pieces of mirror.  As it is I think $20 per side is a lot more than the cost of materials and labor, but I digress.

The driver side is fine, and while I won't say the passenger side is bad I will say it does take some getting used to since it's not a convex mirror.  I find myself physically turning my head right more than before and really checking if the right lane is clear.  That said, it's a whole hell of a lot better than two peeling mirrors.  :)

Yea, that's why I just bit the bullet and got the OEM right side mirror since it's small enough as it is.   I figured that $100 is cheaper than a crash, and mine is getting unsafe.   Plus I will have a heated mirror that works again!

I was able to get a European split mirror on the LH side when a friend was working in Gemany.  It's great.

Complete replacement is better, there's no doubt.

As a side note, my mirrors still retain the heated functionality.  If you were to only attach the new mirrors on top of the existing OEM glass then the heater element would have a difficult time melting anything, but if you completely remove the OEM glass and outright replace it then the heaters will function normally.

Timmy got his from there as well.  Seemed like a really good price plus it was a good fit.

More toys installed.  Not too much for gains but some:

  • 2.5" test pipe.  Exhaust tone is much throatier and while I'd like to say the car is faster I can't say for sure.
  • Samco intake and intercooler couplers.  Fitment was TIGHT in some cases but this absolutely cures the 9 year, 95k mile dry rot I was seeing on some of the factory pieces.  Surprising side effect is that my bypass valve is now quieter than before.

I'm working on getting some pictures posted.
