Ok, I'm thinking of taking advantage of the APR holiday sale and getting up to SEA this week to have Stage 1 (93 oct and stock) flashed onto the ECU.  Anything I should have checked before going through with it?

Checking if your car is mechanically sound is always a good thing :).  Other then that, if ur upgrading to apr stage I, all i would look at is your current DV.  If your DV is a 710n, then you are good to go, otherwise, i would consider upgrading the diverter valve to a 710n or a aftermarket diverter valve.  Oh and then enjoy the new boost in power, it really makes the car a lot more fun to drive!  Say hi to Mike for me!

I loved mine!  It literally doubles the boost.  Just keep an eye on your oil temp if you've been getting on it for a while.  With more power comes higher temps.

B6 cars don't have an oil temp gauge.  :-[

Just remember to let it cool down for a minute or two if you've been getting on it.  Once I'm off the freeway, I just try not to use boost till I get to my street.
