my previously owned 91 10vT CQ
« on: June 04, 2007, 10:46:02 PM »
Added a new mod for the CQ today.

Out with the knee panel.

Checking to see how it looks.

Brackets that needed to be removed. There was another bracket that needed to be removed but I didnt take a pic.

Wires that are bunched up and in the way of installing the shelf properly.

Got help from Jim (thanks Jim!) with the install because I didnt feel comfortable forcing the wires around to get the shelf to fit. Its temporary installed because I have a new keyless entry kit coming to replace the cheap one thats on the CQ now.

I was really surprised how much more room I have between my knees and this shelf then compaired to the knee panel. My knees always hit the old knee panel because I'm short, have short legs and sit really close to the dash. Now I'm going to be more comfortable when I'm driving long distances.

Never had the pleasure of having that.  My CQ had the extra storage in the door.

I think it's non-US only.  We got the knee panel for crash protection purposes.

Shoot!!! ...I wish I had known you were going to Holland today, I left both of my coilover wrenches (large and small) at Eurotech of Holland last week. Anthony, the manager is holding them for me until I can get there to scoop them up. I would've had you pick em up for me. Oh well....

If your going again anytime soon ..give me a shout!

To my knowledge, those coupes that had air bags had the storage pocket on the driver's door.  Those who didn't, had the storage under the steering column.

that is correct sir!  The non-airbag CQs also had the older style sticks on the column and the computer buttons on the center dash.
