The CQ *sold*
« on: May 08, 2007, 01:57:02 PM »
Well after 3 years she is up for sale.  Here is the skinny:

1990 Coupe Quattro with ~190,xxx miles
-RS2 headlights w/ HID 6000k bulbs
-B4 hood
-Scirroco short shift
-Stebro catless exhaust (sounds really good, lots of people here will attest to that)
-Denon head unit w/ 10 disc changer in trunk
-034 injector upgrade - absolutely bar none the best mod you can do to a CQ minus a turbo swap
-H&R springs with Bilstein Sport shocks - ~20k miles on them
-new radiator
-new knock sensors
-new O2 sensor
-Front CV boots were replaced last fall
-3 of 4 calipers have been rebuilt in the last 2 years
-New suspension bushings all around - 25,000 miles on those
-New PS pump and "bomb" 2 years on those
-17x7.5 ATS Comp light wheels 17.5lbs
-90 sport winter wheels with Dunlop Graspics
Now the bad:

Exterior
-has some bumps on it
-front bumper cracked in the usual spot
-paint is a bit old
-one of the fogs isn't working but I'm fixing that
-stone chips on the front end and some paint peeling on the top of the bumper (I have a replacement bumper)
-mirrors have the de-lam problem

Interior
-drivers seat needs refinishing (cracked leather on bolster)
-headliner is falling down (I plan on having this repaired)
-door panels have the leather pulling away (I plan on having this repaired as well)
-clock on instrument cluster has the usual messed up look to it
-HVAC system has some quirks.  seems the motor that moves the hot/fresh air duct flap is not moving

Mechanical
-Car runs super strong!!!
-PS system leaks fluid
-ABS has never worked since I've owned it, I just push the ABS off button
-needs rear diff mount
-*may* need trans mounts (not sure but sorta feels that way...could just be the diff issue)
-RF tierod boot is torn (only a year old, tires rubbed on it but it works great and no slop)
-drips NO oil on the ground even with Elf synthetic
-valve train a bit noisey but like I said, car pulls strong
-A/C belt was removed cause system doesn't blow cold

The car really is a hoot to drive and has never left me stranded anywhere.  The only reason I'm getting rid of it right now is because a Spec Miata opportunity has come up and I'd be stupid not to take it.
-$3200

Nice, I hope it goes to a good home!  In another year and a half or two I'll be looking to get an older Audi.
Hoping for a new Audi (90, 4k, A4 Avant) for a fun project (and low price).
Quattro is a neccesity.

ya its time to move on to bigger things.  You want a 4000 rear sway for your car?  It'll help it rotate real nice (26mm)

Sorry to hear, Castle.  But I understand.  Another Miata lover - heh!  Too bad I don't fit in one  :-\  You wouldn't be considering Keith's '90 Miata -- of course not  ;)
