VAG COM needed for TIP mod
« on: December 12, 2006, 10:34:56 PM »
I want to try this:

Stock tiptronic coding (lazy shift) 00002 to 00032 (sport shift). Recoding makes the tiptronic respond like a manual trans. It holds 1st longer & permits downshifts to 1st, both of which stock coding doesnt allow.

Can someone help me out with a VAG COM?

Does anyone have experience with this mod?

Hey all! Have had the code change for about a year on my tip. There should be two codes that can be used one is 'sport mode' with new strategy and the other is 'sport mode' with the old strategy. New strategy upshifts and downshifts automatically when redline is approached - this is the preferred one due to safety net for the engine, old strategy is you upshift and downshift on your own and if you miss the shift - oh well! Check passatworld.com for the proper code.

i got the code changed and it's pretty cool.  It's much better now that I can dictate the shift from 1st to second and vice versa.
