Too bad you didn't make it out to Motorstadt.  We needed more cars like yours this year, Steve!

Quick update:

Things have been going slowly since the last update. I had a couple of issues with the car that are all cleared up now.

The biggest issue was that there was a lot of oil smoking coming from the engine at idle. This was perplexing to me since I had rebuilt the bottom end, and had the head checked and new valve seals installed. I also had bought a rebuilt K26 turbo. After alot of messing around I noticed some oil leaking at the downpipe/cat connection. Shit, the rebuilt turbo was bad. I installed a used K24 turbo and that did the trick.

So after all that, I got a Innovate Wideband O2 installed for tuning. I also replaced the Summit filter with a K&N and different intake pipe:

I also added a oil pressure gauge and handformed a dual gauge pod to fit on the A-pillar. What a PITA that was:

I'll probably redo this after engine break-in. I think it looks too ricey? BTW this pic was taken before the gauge was wired correctly, hence the gauge pegged to +5 bar...

So now that I can monitor oil pressure and A/F ratio's via the Wideband O2 it was time to put some miles on the car and do some datalogging and tuning:

So far the car only has maybe 100 miles on the new engine. I have most of the low boost/idle bins tuned and have the higher boost bins set at 11-11.5 A/F ratio at 12 psi. I still need to get those bins a little more fine tuned. Once that's set I'll increase the boost a little at a time.

So that's it for now, here's some engine shots for the hell of it:

Next up, I need to get the brakes redone as the rotors are warped badly. I have new A4/TT calipers and A8 rotors for up front and I'm hoping to do the V8 brakes in the rear once I get the appropriate rotors. I have a short shifter I need to install also and some new rear tie rods.

Steve
