This board has the ability to embed video's from other popular sites right into the threads. No more having to link to another sight and redirect people there, the video can stay right in the topic.
This is a really cool mod.
When you go to make a post, you'll see the second row of clickable buttons has 'real', 'quicktime', 'gvideo', and 'youtube' buttons.
Here's the syntax.
You tubebetween the "yt=x,y" and the "/yt" tags, all you have to put there is the value after the v= in the url to the movie; like so "[yt=width,height]tkL42C5Gvh856975987659765k[/yt ]". (remove any spaces in the tags, I had to to do that so you'd see the code here, not a video!)
If you have the correct code, this should work.
The x,y in the first part of the tag lets you specify the size of the video player window, if you put nothing it should auto-size it.
Google VideoFor these its the same tag setup with gv=x,y but inside the tags put the string that appears in the url as 'docid=YADA' put everything that comes after the equals and before the next ampersand (if there is one).
[gv=width,height]01234567890123[/gv]
Real, QuicktimeFor both of these simply copy and paste the whole URL to the .rm or .mov file.
Although this is cool, it does not work with ALL videos you find on the web. So for example, if you have a video from 'holycrapvideosite.com' - you couldn't embed it in the post (unless you could get a direct link to the .mov or .rm file itself).
If you are having problems or questions, just post the link to the video as you would normally with a note in the post and one of the mods will take a look and if we can get it to work -- we'll explain what we did.
