my 98.5 audi a4
« on: March 25, 2007, 03:31:27 PM »
After a long winter... well atleast it seemed long to me. My car is in need or some things which I hope to start working on here soon.

1. My cat needs to be replaced
2. rear door molding
3. Winsheild looks like crap and I noticed a nice crack starting (very bottom in the defrost area)
4. and whatever else I find along the way....

Today 3-25-07
I washed and waxed it once over nice to get most of the winter dirt off

at the next wash ill clay bar it and wax it really well.

ill post some pics later

Stopped at Speedys house today and while under the hood looking around we did the following

filled Coolant
filled dot 4 fluid
and filled power stearing fluid

also he showed me my import added to much oil when they changed it last time

Big thumbs up to speedy for the fluids :)

we found his boost leak. the hose clamp was missing on the lower hose for the intercooler. it looked like when he had his car serviced last at my import center they just put the hose back on w/o installing a new hose clamp.

Yesterday was super long started the project around 10:00 took off the air intake took about 10 min, Took a break :), Took off 1 O2 sensor, 2 top bolts holding the cat to the turbo, Went inside ate some lunch, came back out tried to get the 3rd bolt while I was under the car I kinda took a small 5 min. nap then thought hell... So i went inside took a 45min nap (its now about 1:55ish) Called a buddy he stopped over took a look, we then removed the 3rd bolt

Called and got some pizza, ate the pizza (thank you pizza hut :))

We talk it over he says he has a tourch so I say wtf not we ended up cutting the thing out

That took 2 trips to the house to get the stuff which was about 10 min away (first time we didnt have the keys) its now about 5ish had a beer while we got the stuff :)

will just warp ahead because we did alot of nothing for awhile and just kinda took our time.........

put the cat in and rebolted it up and it was 9:45 lol

This in no way should have been an all day job but we didnt rush it by anymeans

jesse now can see at night!! i sold him my US spec 1 piece headlights (got rid of those crappy headlight that suck and sould never been installed on the earlier a4's). we spent a bit of time doing the swap yesterday and while doing the swap i got my left ring finger pinched :'( between the wire stripper while we were cripping down wire connector. as soon as he gets his hid kit we will be installing those too.
