Spark Plugs
« on: March 24, 2007, 09:21:17 PM »
I'm going to be changing my spark plugs in the next couple weeks.  Looking for suggestions on brands/types to consider purchasing.  Thanks in advanced.

Denso Iridiums. 1 range colder than stock. I'm running the 20's since I'm just stock.

What about for the 2.8?  I've heard NGK for it?
Hoping for a new Audi (90, 4k, A4 Avant) for a fun project (and low price).
Quattro is a neccesity.

The Bosch 3 electrods always did the job for me on my '97 1.8T.

My car started misfiring a couple weeks ago though and that's when I saw I couldn't get those from ECS- they were replaced with a 2 electrode.  Those did not work- very bad misfires.  I tried closing up the gap, but it wasn't easy, and I'm not sure you really can (hard to gap because of the design).   I ended up having to go to Autozone- Autolite (yea, I read the story, but I needed to get home from west Michigan).   I closed up the gap to .028" and they did the trick.   I need to get some plain copper plugs though- NGK's I guess.

'10 GTI, Xenons, Dynaudio
'94 Miata C package- black and tan, Kosei K1's
Sold- '97 A4 1.8T Q, H&R, Bilstiens, '17 ACE Lola, Milltek/Borla, APR, Stern Power Ring

Been running the Densos for a month now, noticeably smoother idle and a little better mpg. I had almost 60k on the stockers though.
